Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
“We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like "I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive...." And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas.”
―Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
A tribute to one of my favorite movies of all time, I tried by best to capture as much of this crazy desert adventure as I possibly could. In this one of a kind pendant you’ll find Duke’s signature convertible driving through the desert on its way to Las Vegas with the memorable bats swooping in to attack them. Every intricate detail was entirely hand crafted from copper wire and secured to a handwoven copper frame with a wavy Citrine sun at the top. Comes on your choice length of antique copper chain.

Protective Lacquer: Copper is always changing and requires frequent polishing to maintain the same brightness that is featured in the photo. To help maintain the luster and reduce polishing, you can choose to have a protective lacquer applied to parts or all of your pendant. You can have the lacquer applied to only the intricate details in the nature scene to help keep them bright and shiny for as long as possible so there’s no risk damaging them while polishing your pendant. Or if you’d like, I can also coat the woven frame in the same protective finish. Please note that these types of lacquers may eventually wear off over time, but I will supply an abrasive polishing pad that you can use to polish the wire and remove the lacquer when the time arrives.
